Fanny Ruth Patterson Scholarship

This scholarship is intended for African American students who have earned a minimum of 70 hours, maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA and are active in campus affairs.
The Fanny Ruth Patterson Scholarship is named after the first black student to graduate from NIU. Fanny Ruth Patterson earned a bachelor’s degree in education in 1915 and was known as a brave innovator at Northern.
