Anita M. Andrew

Anita M. Andrew (1953-2018), Ph.D., History, University of Minnesota, 1993; M.A., East Asian Studies, Indiana University, 1979; B.A., Asian Studies, Wheaton College, Norton, M.A., 1975, was an associate professor of Chinese and comparative Asian history at NIU from 1994 until her death in December 2018. Prior to NIU, she was a visiting instructor at Beloit College from 1988 to 1994. Anita was a dedicated teacher and caring mentor to all of her students, helping and encouraging many to go on to graduate school. This scholarship was established by her family and many friends as a way to honor her love for and commitment to the interdisciplinary study of Asia.
