Anne C. Kaplan

Anne C. Kaplan

Anne has been involved in developing many new programs, academic and supportive, during three decades at NIU and she is currently in charge of efforts to expand the university’s connection to its surrounding region. In all of her roles, she has paid attention to issues that affect women particularly, including child care, returning to school after stopping, dual careers and secretarial staff issues. As a single parent, she moved from her own need for child care, to work to increase child care options in the community. Her leadership style is cited by her nominators as one of quiet example and successful team building, and many NIU women, and men, have found in her a mentor and an excellent source of career advice and encouragement.
