Dr. J. Patrick White
This endowed fund has been established in the name of J. Patrick White, professor emeritus, to continue his generous support of students in the history program at Northern Illinois University. Professor White joined the NIU Department of History in 1961. While at NIU, he served from 1961 to 1964 as director of the Peace Corps Training Program for Malaysia, from 1964 to 1976 as assistant chair and director of Graduate Studies in the Department of History. As a teacher, he offered immensely popular courses in U.S. constitutional history, and served as faculty adviser to pre-law students in history. He retired in 1993.
