Earl Hansen

Dr. Earl Hansen, associate professor of technology, joined Northern Illinois University in 1980. He served 32 years within the Department of Technology, retiring in 2012.

Dr. Hansen was integral in the success of the NIU Environmental and Safety Program. His work within the Safety Program led to the thousands of students entering the workforce with industrial experience and knowledge of how to tackle problems.

Dr. Hansen believes that, “The strength of our program lies in the successes of our alumni.” Hansen continues, “They are hard-working, professional and interested in furthering the safety program at NIU. The individual student is the most important aspect of this academic program.”
