Family and friends of Richard H. Howland

Richard H. Howland is a former professor and chair of the Department of Marketing of NIU. Howland joined Northern in 1964 and was with the university until he could no longer teach. He received many honors as a teacher, including the NIU Excellence in Teaching Award and the NIU Foundation Service Award. His true love, outside his teaching, was his interest in writing poetry, and thus, he wished to have this endowment established in order to benefit students who shows excellence in the writing of poetry.
