James P. and Mary Clare Sczepaniak

James (Jim) P. Sczepaniak was a 1964 graduate from Northern Illinois University?s Department of History. After earning his degree, he served in the U.S. Army. He spent his 33-year career in education inspiring students as a social studies teacher at Lockport Township and Romeoville high schools.Jim took great pride in his civic involvement and proudly served on the Joliet Public Library Board of Trustees for more than 30 years, most recently as president of the board. He was an active member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet, the Holy Name Society of St. Joseph Church, the St. Joseph Church Seniors, the Oakwood Estates Homeowners Association, and the Illinois Retired Teachers Association.Through this gift, Jim will continue to inspire and educate students and faculty for years to come.
