Mortar Board Student Honor Society - Pleiades Chapter

Mortar Board, Inc. is a national honor society which recognizes college seniors for distinguished ability and achievement in scholarship, leadership, and service. Mortar Board began in 1918 as the first national organization honoring senior college women and opened its membership to men in 1975. Their focus is on promoting equal opportunities, supporting ideals of the university, advancing a spirit of scholarship, recognizing and encouraging leadership, and providing service. The Outstanding Junior Award was established by the Pleiades Chapter of Mortar Board Senior Honor Society at NIU to recognize a student (or students) for commitment to above and beyond the ideals of scholarship, leadership, and service.
