Robert and Nikki Eickhoff
Bob Eickhoff graduated from the NIU College of Business with a degree in Marketing in 1978. He attended NIU on the GI Bill after serving in the United States Army’s 82nd Airborne. He and wife Nikki were married with a young child while Bob attended college.Bob is now senior vice president, operations, for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. In this role, he leads 3,200 circulation, manufacturing and information technology employees at the AJC, the Southeast’s largest newspaper. He joined the company as vice president, circulation in March 2005. Under Bob’s leadership, the AJC has made significant advances in such key areas as customer service, reader acquisition, operating efficiencies and distribution/production capabilities. Prior to his move to the AJC and Cox, Bob served as director/vice president of circulation and operations at Orlando Sentinel Communications for seven years. He joined the Sentinel in 1993, from the Chicago Tribune. He also worked on special projects for Tribune Publishing at several of their other newspapers.Previously, Bob held an array of key circulation and marketing positions at the Chicago Tribune, including metro circulation director, transportation planner, national sales manager. Bob also served as a business analyst. Bob has a long record of community and industry leadership, having chaired the advisory board of the Salvation Army of Orlando. He is past president of the Southern Circulation Managers Association and the board of directors for the Newspaper Association of America’s (NAA) Circulation Federation. Bob has also led two national NAA committees, on newspaper distribution strategy and advertiser customer satisfaction. He currently represents Cox Newspapers (and previously represented Tribune Publishing) on the ABC/NAA Liaison Committee and serves on the Board of Directors for the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta.
