Samuel and Adelaide Rockwood

Adelaide V. (Andersen) Rockwood received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Northern Illinois University in 1937. Adelaide concentrated her studies in curriculum and instruction for elementary. Adele met and married Samuel C. Rockwood after Sam returned from serving in Patton’s 7th Armored Division during World War II. Sam spent his working years as a purchasing manger with the Hughes Aircraft Company in Redondo Beach, California in the early 1950s. He retired in 1985. Adelaide spent decades as an elementary school teacher in Westchester, California, near the Los Angeles Airport, retiring in the early 1980s. Adele became active in supporting numerous charities both monetarily and with her time. Adele passed away in November 2009 and Sam in March 2010.
