CHHS Student Ambassador
The Student Ambassador program is designed for enthusiastic and engaged College of Health and Human Sciences students who will positively represent Northern Illinois University and help build meaningful connections with prospective students, donors, and the community. Ambassadors serve as the face of the college, sharing their experiences and promoting our programs through events, outreach, and social media. This application is for a Fall 2026 position, with possible renewal for Spring 2027. The award is $1,500 per term. Please contact CHHS@niu.edu if you have additional questions.
- Undergraduate student majoring in Communicative Disorders, Health Sciences, Human Development and Family Sciences, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Nursing, Nutrition Sciences, or Public Health
- Minimum GPA – 3.0
- Minimum 24 completed NIU credit hours
- Available to support college functions 5-7 hours/week
- Finalists will be invited to an interview via their NIU ZID email

- Write a persuasive narrative (300–400 words) aimed at convincing a prospective student to attend Northern Illinois University and major in a Health and Human Sciences field. Narrative should highlight your personal connection to NIU and your academic program, as well as clearly articulate the value of NIU’s offerings and how you have benefitted from being a Huskie. Your summary will culminate in an explanation of why a prospective student should take their next and become a Huskie.
